The Javanese Goddes Temple

Candi Selogriyo or Selogriyo temple is located in a remote area in a village called Selogriyo village, central Java. Selogriyo itself means “a house made from stone”. In fact Javanese people gives a name simply after their ancestor moved the the east and left-abandoned their temples (Hindu-Buddhist) and Muslim penetrated the whole Java with their new faith and hopes. Seeing the style, the temple used to dedicated to the god of fertility “the goddes sri”, one of the gods in Hindu. This is a typical of a village’s temple.
